A Big “Diamond Back” Cutting Board

(Disclaimer: I really do need to get a nice digital camera that takes better pictures than this)

This Cutting Board was a special order that I received from a repeat customer, Wynette, who lives in Florida.  Last year about this time she made her first cutting board purchase, and she said that it “worked out great” except that her husband “would like a bigger one.”  So she selected a specific pattern from one of the other boards in my portfolio and asked for me to make a bigger one.

Well this is the largest cutting board so far for me.  It’s made from black walnut, cherry, and maple and measures 19 1/2 ” x 21″ x 1 1/4″.   It took me about 4 days to complete.

Tomorrow it will begin it’s journey from the Great Lakes State to the Sunshine State compliments of the USPS.

I’m guessing that the “Diamond Back” name for the board is rather self-explanitory.

P.S.- If you are looking for advice on how best to care for and extend the life of a quality wooden cutting board, check out my FAQ page.
