“A man who works with his hands is a laborer; a man who works with his hand and his brain is a craftsman; but a man who works with his hands and his brain and his heart is an artist” –Louis Nizer

Mission Style Oak Benches

This pair of Mission Style Oak Benches were commissioned by a some local friends, Rick and Nicole Hopkins.  Rick Hopkins is a talented musician and worship leader.  Renee is a brave stay-at-home mother of four.   They also regularly invite foster children to join their family.  I’m privileged to know them.

I believe the idea to commission these benches was born of both form and function as they work better around their dining table with their large family that includes young children.  This mission style design was Nicole’s choice.

It was a fun and enjoyable project that was rather straight forward to build. I hope that the benches serve your family well for many, many years.
